As simple as we may think we are, men just don’t seem to understand the mind of a woman. It could be because often times we say things meaning something completely different, although it makes perfect sense in our minds. The fact remains that men need a little bit of coaching when it comes to understanding us. Men’s Health writer, Lisa Brown, put together a list just for the guys of all the things women would love for men to know and understand. Here are a few of my favorites:
#1 Saying “I love you” immediately before, during, or following sex doesn’t count. This goes for both of you. In the heat of the moment, you’re liable to say just about anything.
#3 I will leave if you lie. Don’t let the reality show relationships fool you. A lie can definitely be a deal breaker!
#7 “Fine” is never an appropriate response when I ask you how I look. It’s dismissive. At least look up and give her a real compliment.
#11 I expect you to call me. So if you’re waiting for her to make the first move, you could be waiting for a while.
#16 You did something bad. I seem cool with it. I’m not. Especially if she says, “I’m fine.” Expect World War III soon.
#18 Shoes determine whether you’re fashionable or not. We love our shoes just as much as we love yours.
#26 If you ask me out directly, I will say yes. Even if she fully intends to put you in the friend zone right after the date.
#33 You’re sexy when you’re: shaving, fixing things, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, driving, eating a peach, holding a baby. Don’t be surprised when you get “the eye” after doing any of these things.
#34 I need to hear how you feel about me. Often. Tell me now. And do it with feeling. She’s not expecting a sonnet, but she does need you to tell her how you feel.
#36 I want to be the best thing that ever happened to you—and for you to recognize this. It doesn’t hurt to let her know know this too. You’ll definitely earn some cool points with her.
#38 Discussion of ex-gf’s and ex-bf’s should be avoided at all times. She should be the best thing to ever happen to you. So your past lovers and old relationships should be as irrelevant to you as hers are to her.
#47 It’s cheating as soon as you’re doing something with her that you wouldn’t want me to see, hear, read . . . And cheating is also a deal breaker.
#49 I remember everything about our relationship. Even when she’s mad at you or you’re taking a break from each other, chances are, she’s remembering all the good times and definitely the bad.
All these things and more should be learned sooner rather than later. This way, you can actually enjoy the relationship rather than spend your time trying to figure us out.
