Trey Songz’s ‘Trigga’ is a Summer Must

Mr. Steal Yo Girl is back; so let ya man know. Trey Songz officially released his sixth studio album, Trigga, today (July 1) after streaming the entire album exclusively through MTV. Swollen with songs fit for blasting at maximum volume while cruising on a sunny day, Trigga is definitely a summer must.

While songs like “Foreign” and “Late Night,” are definite club bangers, Trey’s falsetto on “Smartphones” take us back to the days of Ready. He even gets a bit personal on “I Know (Can’t Get Back),” confessing his struggle balancing love and fame.

But what really sets Trigga apart from previous projects are his well-chosen collaborations. Ty Dolla $igns’ throaty delivery on “Dead Wrong” gives the song its edge and newcomer Mila J complements Trey’s voice perfectly on their duet, “Disrespectful.” Even recent bad boy, Justin Beiber, surprises listeners with his R&B flair on the remix of “Foreign.”

Although Trey doesn’t venture far off from his characteristic crooning of the sexual kind, Trigga stakes its claim as one of his best albums to date.

Be sure to go pick up Trigga on iTunes or at Target for the exclusive deluxe edition.
